This song was actually written by my dear friend Kirry Nelson. We used to sing it when we performed together in Taos, New Mexico in the early days of Tina & Her Pony. I’ve always loved how this song seems to encompass soaring sadness, but also quiet hope- themes so pertinent in the liminal space of grieving a life lost and not yet knowing what the new one will look like.
