I wrote this song during a songwriting challenge, where I wrote twelve songs in one day. It’s about the feeling of shutting down during emotionally difficult conversations, and how when we are in this state, we tend to fixate on one little thing and get absorbed in it. It’s about giving up on a relationship and realizing there is absolutely nothing you can do to fix the deep injuries that harden over time, except walk away with humility.
