This song is about feeling the importance of savoring every moment of beautiful connection and love that we have in our lives, because the grim reaper can come at any moment and snatch away the people, relationships, and experiences we hold sacred. The golden highway is a reference to all the years I spent touring, but it also speaks to the golden paths into infinity that are created in the Rocky Mountains in the autumn time, when the aspen leaves fall. It is on these beautiful highways that we must eventually let go of everything and everyone that we hold dear, knowing that the universe has its own timing whether it makes sense to us or not.
